The Quell Foundation, to enforce its mission to reduce the number of suicides, overdoses and, incarcerations of people with mental health illness, is pleased to announce the following scholarship recipients for academic year 18-19. Congratulations to the students who are doing their part to lift their mask in sharing their stories and their continued efforts creating broader access to mental health care services for all.
“We are honored to once again support so many students across the country, ” said The Quell Foundation CEO, Kevin Lynch. “As we continue to grow, we are able to significantly expand the number of people students we are able to help. Thank you to the generous donors that continue to support our commitment to education and awareness.”
Since June 2016, the foundation has distributed $735,000 to students attending universities and colleges in 40 different states across the country. During the current scholarship cycle, the Foundation’s students represent 112 different post-secondary schools and 323 scholarships distributed, totaling $350,000.
In addition, the foundation looks forward to its continued partnerships with Penn State University, Becker College, Nova Southeastern, and the University of Minnesota. The Foundation offers the following awards:
The Quell Survivor Scholarship is distributed to select high school seniors or current undergraduate/graduate students who have experienced the devastating loss of a parent, caregiver or sibling to suicide.
The Quell Fighter Scholarship is awarded to a select high school senior or a current undergraduate/graduate student that are currently in treatment for a diagnosed mental health condition.
The Quell Bridge the Gap Scholarship is awarded to third or fourth-year Undergraduate students or Graduate students pursuing a degree in psychology, social work or other fields of study related to the provision of mental health services.
